Una mirada al lugar que habito
[A Gaze at the Place I Inhabit]
Acrylic on canvas · 30 × 40 cm · 2026
“The search for what we feel as home.”
The work was born from a view of rooftops and balconies that reminded me of Marrakech, a city I visited some years ago and that left its mark on me. Yet as I painted it, the scene began to transform: it could be Marrakech, Valencia or many other places.
It was created during a period of personal and geographical transition. While working on it, I found myself reflecting on the places we inhabit, the search for direction and what we associate with the idea of home.
Through colour and the tension between light and shadow, the work explores the relationship between the places we inhabit and the search for what we feel as home.
